Hello Istanbul visitors! I would like to talk some about Istanbul as a resident to give you some insights about the city. Istanbul is the greatest city of Turkiye. Also, it is well known city of Turkiye too. Many think it is the capital of Turkey but the capital is Ankara. This case is like Sydney-Canberra of Australia or Auckland-Wellington of New Zelland.  On the other hand, Istanbul had been capital of  old states in Anatolia many years  such as Byzantians and Ottoman Empire. In many districts you can smell the history and feel the old times in this city.

In the past, when someone said Istanbul, she/he meant a district that includes Eminonu, Sirkeci,Sultanahmet, Topkapi, Golden Horn and a little  more land, but today means a city has 39  provinces and  home for more than 12 million people. It is so close to connect with other neighbour cities, in the west Edirne and in the east Kocaeli due to its ongoing enlargement.

Because of  being  an old city and the capital of Ottoman Empire, there are lots of historical places in Istanbul that muchly deserve to be visited. And I highly recommend you to visit.  Additionally, we can say Istanbul is the most developed city of Turkey and it keeps on developing in the fields of industry, technology, tourism, cultural life.

There are a lot of plants and industrial companies in Istanbul due to its proximity to resources, markets, sea and land shipping routes. That case caused many turkish induviduals and families to migrate Istanbul from other cities of  Turkey to make money,  in the recent decades. To illustrate, we can count more than 3 million immigrated people from only one city.  Thus, today Istanbul is a crowded city and has to struggle with problems because of its high population such as traffic chaos, needs of supplies, unplanned urbanization and so on. Moreover, we can say Istanbul is a sum of  Turkey and has great diversity. I heard that a lot of times from other people, “you can find everything (every kind of people) in Istanbul”.

I can say Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality  has been doing great work and I am okay with it except traffic problem. I guess Istanbul isnt beyond  European cities in terms of its level of development and technology. It is convenient for residents and visitors.

Now that is it, but every aspects that I mentioned need more examination. Please share your views.
