Last year, I had the great opportunity to visit Istanbul, We reached Istanbul SAW airport around 10:00 o’clock in the morning. One thing that I must say is that this country brings up a great blend of religious and secular elements. Over there I spent some unforgettable moments of my life. Riding the trolley through the new city was an amazing experience which reminded me of Shimla (A state in India).
Our first day was started with a short visit to Grand Bazaar and Istanbul University, followed by Bayazit Mosque. On a cold Tuesday evening, we went to Karakoyum ( recommendation from local people over there) for dinner in the New City of Istanbul. The food quality was good. I was fascinated about the Turkish coffee so we had that and I really find it great. If anyone ever plans to visit Istanbul then it’s highly recommended.
The next day we visited “Topkapi palace” which was constructed in Ottoman period of muslim era. It is an absolutely fantastic palace. The walls of Topkapi palace were full of Gold and I was stoned after watching it. It was a memorable palace which I can never forget.
I had a great time with my kids in Istanbul; they were so excited to visit those new places. Day before last day in Istanbul we went to Blue Mosque and Hagia sofia. Both of them were beautiful but one thing that I was unable to figure out that why Hagia sofia was converted to a mosque. Anyways we spent a lot of time in watching those two. Their feel was eye catching.
Last day we went to Eminonu port where we caught a ferry trip. It was hour based. The ferry trip was nearly two hours long but it was really enjoyable. The charge was also nominal for it. It was around 9-10 bucks as One year had passed to my trip that is why I can’t recall it exactly.
After coming back here in my country, I missed Istanbul more and more. I will love to go to that place again if I get a chance to spend my vacations abroad. Istanbul is a beautiful city and one must go there. It will add some best memories to the journey of life.
