My Istanbul Guide

It has been a long time not to write about something. But, I always want to write something valuable to you.

So, food issue is getting more attention from followers, unfortunately there was nothing on it to date in this site. Well, today I am going to give and end to it. Also, I want to state it from here too, I need my sister’s help ( who is a food engineer and a good cook too, to me ).

I am going to tell you about good places to eat. The name is “Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyesi,  Sosyal Tesisleri” in turkish and if we translate, “Social facilities of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality”.There are currently 16 branches of it ( 15 is restaurant and 1 is a place to accommodate) in different decent points of the city and both Asian and European side of Istanbul. And the number is growing too. I personally have been in 5 of them and liked very much, that is also why I tell it to you. Moreover, these facilities are run by Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediye ( Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality) so it is a public place. So I feel free to promote it from here without any compensation

These restaurants are in very good locations and serve  delicious, traditional and healthy turkish food. Prices are not high. And, probably even cheap for tourists. Some of them also used to be as places to rest, eat and leasure by Ottoman Empire too.

You can watch an introductory film on Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Social Facilities‘ web site. It is in turkish but still must give you great idea about them.

I can suggest you to eat in “Halic” branch of it, if you stay in Sultanahmet. It has the view of Golden Horn. Florya branch has a wonderful area around the restaurant with full of pretty tulips in summer time, with sea view and can make your day so peaceful. Fethipasha (Fethipaşa) and Camlica( Çamlıca) branches have glorious Bosphorus views. I suggest these two to experince in day and night time and also in summer and  winter. I admire those points of city. And, If I landed Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW), I directly get on a taxi to eat something in Gozdagı( Gözdağı) branch. It has spectacular view and so close to the airport.

I suggest those places to eat  and spend time. There must be some of them which are close to you. It is always guaranteed that you are going to experince a nice atmosphere and good service. Bona petit, enjoy your meal and afiyet olsun
